Well, trying to get the best ingredients into my children,
without sacrificing the chewy goodness and classic chocolate of the famous
recipe, I believe this one passes the test!
- 2 ¼ cup Organic Whole Wheat Flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt (oftentimes, I simply omit this)
- 2 sticks of butter, softened
- ½ cup organic cane sugar
- ½ cup organic brown sugar
- about ¼ cup stevia to balance the fact that I added less
than the recipe calls for of sugars.
The original recipe calls for ¾ cup for each of the sugars
- 1 teaspoon organic vanilla extract
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tablespoon flaxseed (adds fiber and nutrition)
- 12-oz package of the Nestle morsels
NOTE: You can use nuts if you want. I have stopped using walnuts because when packing for the
schools, there are nut allergies, so I play it safe.
Then I simply preheat the oven to 375 degrees and put little
spoonfuls onto my pan and bake for somewhere around 9 minutes. When I make cookies bigger, my bake
time is longer. When I make little
tiny cookies, my bake time is shorter.
Simple simple!!!! And you really
have added quality to the ingredients without taking away the awesome chocolate
chips……… Some things just can’t be substituted! Enjoy.
